Computer Basics: Securing Your Home Computer
Your home computer is a popular target for intruders. Why? Because intruders want what you may have stored there. Bank account records, credit card transactions, and more. However, there is a more urgent need. Intruders need the power of your computer. They want to use the processing power of your computer(s) to attack someone else. This allows them to cover their tracks, and when bundling that power with other computers, they have strength to attack major targets. Don’t let your computer be the resource to attack others. This one day course will give you the information and hands on experience necessary to strengthen the security of your private computers. Topics and practices such as Anti-Virus, Anti-Spyware, Firewalls, Disk Backups and more will be covered and practiced.
Students should have completed Computer Foundations and Introducing Windows. Introduction to Home Wireless Setup and Advanced Home Wireless Configuration training is also preferred. Real world experience can be substituted.
